Filedrive sharing guide

Secure. Private. Yours.

Choose the right place

AreaAccessUse
My filesYour accountUpload and organize private files. A normal folder stays private until you share it. Administrators retain storage operations access.
Team foldersMembers assigned by an administratorOne common folder with viewer or editor access. Membership is separate from signing in to Filedrive.
Shared linksRecipients with the valid linkClick Share beside a file/folder, choose expiry, optional password and usage limit, then copy the ready link. Revoke it in Shared links. If connected, 8ps.ch creates a shorter URL with the same target restrictions.
Upload requestsRecipients with an upload linkCreate a dedicated intake folder and Request files. Recipients can send files without browsing your private storage.
Public downloadsEveryone, without sign-inAdministrators select Manage public files and upload into /Public. Everything there is intentionally public, including speed-test files. Private homes never appear automatically.

Invite a colleague

  1. Add the person to Alpnexa Filedrive Users in Authentik after application group bindings are activated. authentik Admins is the administrator role.
  2. The person signs in once. A separate 10 GiB private home is created automatically.
  3. An administrator opens Manage teams, creates a team folder and assigns that enrolled person as a viewer or editor.

No invitation email is sent. The owner keeps the existing 200 GiB quota. Administrator controls require verified Alpnexa SSO group membership.

Transfers and mounts

Uploads use four workers and verified 8 MiB chunks. Reselect the same file within 24 hours after an interruption to resume it. Maximum 32 GiB per file, subject to quota and free space. Supported browsers can download in parallel directly to a chosen local file; other browsers use a normal download.

Drive mounts issue a separate, read-only WebDAV credential for one personal subfolder, valid for 1–30 days. Copy it when created; the password is shown once. Revoke it in Drive mounts. Removing a person from Authentik does not revoke an existing mount automatically; disable their native account and mounts during offboarding.

Recovery and boundaries

Move personal files to Trash to retain a recoverable copy. Restore by moving them back in the advanced file manager. This is not version history. Team folders use explicit access assignments; native administrator tools handle advanced account and quota changes.

Google Drive is excluded at the owner's request. Old downloads.alpnexa.com files, tokens and links remain in the previous service; they have not been imported. Network IP/NIC changes are versioned operator configuration, not an end-user control.
